| Reit im Winkl is located in the Chiemgau region of the Bavarian Alps about 120
kilometers southeast of Munich. It is about 3 kilometers to
the Austrian border and about an hour from Salzburg and
Innsbruck. Train connections are available through Munich
to Prien am Chiemsee. From Prien it is a 50 minute bus trip
and buses run regularly.
 By
car, take the A8 from Munich towards Salzburg. Follow the
Prien/Bernau exit and drive through Marquartstein to Reit im
Winkl. Total distance from the Autobahn is about 30 km, well
marked and always the main road. When you get to RIW you
drive to the center of town, around the one way loop past
the church. Turn right on Tiroler Str. in front of the Post
Office/Bus Stop. Take the next right on Birnbacher Str.,
(just past the Ski Hutte).We are about 4 blocks up a slight
hill, straight ahead at a sharp left turn in the road. |
